Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow. ~Swedish Proverb
Throughout the month of February, MomsGetReal has been featuring articles sharing ideas, advice, and experiences with love and relationships. The month – and our focus on relationships – is coming to an end, and we want to extend our thanks & appreciation to all of our contributors and guest authors who have shared their insights.
Everyone wants to be needed, and when we have the most relationship issues, it is often because we don’t feel needed or appreciated by the people who are important to us. What it really takes to keep relationships healthy and strong is a willingness to be vulnerable with the people we care about, and a willingness to put effort into communicating how important the people in our lives are to us.
We all have so many people who impact our lives, either in an ongoing way or in a way that helped shape who we are. Take the time – today! – to tell the people you care about how much they mean to you and how much you value having them in your life.
I encourage you all to increase your LovePower by taking some advice from my favorite love guru, Leo Buscaglia, author of Love: What Life Is All About.
Make people a little happier that you came along today.
Leave concrete evidence of your kindness, leave signs of your love.
Think of someone you know in a more positive light.
Help someone to feel joy, to laugh, or at least, to smile.
Remove a little of the rust that is corroding your relationships.
Go through the day without fretting over what you don’t have and celebrating the things you do have?
Forgive others for being less than perfect.
Forgive yourself.
Learn something new every day about life, living and love.
