My kids are full of energy and incredibly draining. I love that about them, actually. I thrive on their energy. But between the pounding drums of my son’s music practice and the clacking of my daughter’s tap dancing practice, the cacophony alone is enough to introduce insanity.
I get to the end of the day sometimes, and all I want to do is sit down on the sofa, open a bag of Doritos, and wash them down with a glass of wine or three. Of course, I DON’T do that. Well, I don’t eat the bag of Doritos, but I’m pretty happy to relax with a glass of red wine on my front porch.
It’s a very big glass.
I am, however, always looking for ways to improve my energy level and find ways to improve my lifestyle. My husband and I have already given up the microwave, stopped eating fast food (for over a year now), eliminated high fructose corn syrup and trans fats from our diet, and try to exercise every day.
But motivation is sometimes hard to come by. Especially when there’s a lot of work to be done and I start at 5am and don’t end til nearly the same time in the pm.
